Amendments related to the salaries and benefits of the Assembly’s members were approved by a majority vote

Islamabad: The National Assembly has approved the amendment of the PPP regarding the salaries and benefits of the members by a majority vote.

PPP’s Abdul Qadir Patel presented the amendment in the House regarding increasing the privileges of the Members of Parliament. The Salaries and Allowances Act is being amended through the Finance Bill.

The opposition opposed the PPP’s amendment on salaries and benefits.

With the passing of the amendment, the traveling allowance of the Members of the Assembly has been increased from Rs.10 per kilometer to Rs.25. Annual traveling vouchers increased from 25 to 30.

The authority of the salaries and allowances of the Members of Parliament was transferred from the Federal Government to the Finance Committee of the concerned House.
